All in God's plan

Well today we didn't get to find out if we are having a boy or a girl.  Chris was supposed to leave at 6am this morning to go to Arkansaw to work storm damage so we had to reschedule our appt.  Chris' trip got canceled at the last minute so we are still left with the unknow.  But I know it is all in God's timing that he reveal this blessing to us.  This actually works out better because my dad is coming to town next week and if all goes as planned he will be with us on Saturday when we find out the sex.  Is that God's timing or what?  I need little reminders like this to remind me that God is in control not me.  As much as I want everything on my time table I have to remember that God has a plan and his plan is perfect for me and I don't need to worry about my time table.  So if everything goes as planned I will be reporting to you next Saturday the sex of our little peanut!

We find out Saturday!

We have decided to go to a place called Stork Vision to find out the sex of our baby.  It is a very home like environment that is totally different than a clinic.  They have comfortable seating for everyone and you get to see the sonogram on a big tv screen.  You also get to take a DVD of your baby home along with digital pictures!  Wow how cool is that?  For those of you who know my family well know that we never do anything alone so that being said the whole family will be there and learn the news with us.  It is starting to sink in that in less than 48 hours that the baby will no longer be called peanut but will actually have a name.  I pray not for one sex or another to be on that screen Saturday morning but to have a healthy baby on the screen.  Finding out the sex is just a bonus for us.

Why Stork Vision and not the normal sonogram you ask...
Well today when I called to set up our sonogram appt I found out that they were not going to do it until early March.  Yep that messed up my whole timeline!  I had already planned the weekends that we would paint, put up funiture and so on.  I wanted to scream...."You are messing up everything!" but I didn't I just found another way!  I don't take no for answer very well, but I don't have to tell you that.
I asked the wonderfully nice lady why they make you wait till 22 weeks to find out the sex and she had a very good answer.  They do not wait because you must be 22 weeks to figure out the sex it is to get a better view and measurement of all the organs to make sure that they are working correctly.  Okay, that I understand but I want to know the sex now so we are finding out the sex this Saturday.
Please know that the only reason we wouldn't find out on Saturday is if Chris gets sent to Oklahoma for work due to the bad weather.  So everyone pray that good weather across the map and a healthy baby on the screen!  We will keep you posted!  Any ideas if "Peanut" is a boy or a girl? So far most people think a boy.  I palm reader told me a boy (not that I pay or go to palm readers as a practice and this was way before I was prego) but the chinese calendar says girl.  Only God knows until Saturday!

Top Ten Questions I get asked daily!

These are a few questions that I seem to get asked daily about my pregnancy.
1. Do you know if it is a boy or a girl?
No, but we will in two weeks!

2. Do you have names picked out?
Yes, You must stay tuned to find out!

3. Have you been sick?
Ah, yea! I have a baby growing inside me!!!! I woke up on week 6 and the head and the toilet became best friends! I am not complaining because I am so GREATFUL to be pregnant but I have been very sick. Morning, Noon and night! The bad part is that when I get sick, Chris gets sick! So at least we are going through it together. It has gotten better over the past week.(Knock on Wood!)

4. Any Cravings?
I want spicy, spicy and more spicy! I also crave tons of fruit! I eat oranges, apples and pineapple daily and I like to finish my meals with something sweet!

5. Do you want a boy or a girl?
If you haven’t noticed I am just excited it be having a baby period! It is our first so I really don’t care. In a perfect world I would like one of each but if that doesn’t happen I will be so happy with what God gives me. Most people think Chris wants a boy but trust me when I say he will be more than happy with a girl. She will learn to hunt and fish just like a boy the only difference is that her camo will be trimmed in pink and lace!

6. Are you going for drugs or natural?
The goal is all natural! Yep I am crazy but I really want to do this.

7. Who is your Dr. and what hospital are you using?
Dr. Luckett and the baby will be born at Mother Frances

8. Will you breast feed?
This is a little personal but one thing I have learned is that when you are having a baby nothing is off limits! Yes if God allows me too I will.

9. What are the grandparents going to be called?
Chris’ parents are grandma and grandpa. They already have grandchildren that named them that. My mom will be called Mimi and my dad hasn’t decided; he just wants to be called.

10. Are you going back to work after the baby is born.
The plan is yes. I am so lucky to live close to all my family who can help with the baby so that the baby doesn’t have to go to daycare for at least a year. Thanks guys!

Spreading the News!

On a normal Tuesday morning I awoke and decided to pee on a stick. I didn’t get excited because these little sticks had let me down many times before. I left the bathroom and let prissy out and went back to look at the test about 15 minutes later. I was not expecting to see POSITIVE but that indeed is what it read. I had it all planed out for months how I was going to tell Chris and our family and friends but on this Tuesday morning all of that escaped me. I wanted to tell Chris in person so that meant I had to wait all day and keep this exciting news to myself. We all know that I am not good at keeping secrets! But I did.

Chris worked late that night but when he did finally arrive home he was greeted with Prissy wearing a “Big Sis” t-shirt and two positive pregnancy test on his night stand. (His night stand is his first stop when he arrives home to empty his pockets. ) He looked at me and said that they were fake!!! Once he came to grips with the exciting news we were off to tell the family.

First stop was his parents house. It was 9:00 at night. They had to know something was up. They were both very excited! We were then off to my mom’s house. We handed her a burp cloth monogrammed with “Mimi” ( a grandmother name she has picked out many moons ago). Once the tears stops we loaded her up and headed to mamaw and papaw’s house. By this time it is nearly 10:00 pm . Mom handed Mamaw the burp cloth and once she put two and two together tears came flowing down. They are so excited to have their first great-grandchild.

The next day I picked Claire up from school with a poem telling her the news. I took her home and she told her mom and Cade. I had a burp cloth made for Michelle with “Nanny” monogrammed on it. (This is what I called her as a child) I am surprised that all of Tyler didn’t know the news from Michelle’s screams alone.

That day I also called my Dad and told him he was going to be a grandfather. I don’t think he was quite ready for the news of his baby having a baby. He was quite surprised to say the least.

That weekend I was off to the Dallas area to tell all of my girl friends and on Monday the facebook annoucement was made.
