Fishing Trip

Over spring break we went on our anual trout fishing trip.  It was a great relaxing trip.  It was colder than I would have ordered but we had a great time anyway.  We all caught are limit (5 per day) within 45 min each day!  Try telling a 5 and a 9 year old they have to quit fishing after so many!  Cade didn't quite understand this.  We had a fish fry Saturday night and got to enjoy what we caught!
Chris and I can't wait to take Madelyn!  Next year she will not be old enough to use a Snoopy fishing pole quite yet but I know she'll love it anyway!  These are a few pictures from this year.
Chris out in the river.

Cade in his fishing outfit!

Claire wanted to do it all her self!  She can bait a hook, take the fish off the hook, and even put it on the stringer!

She even kisses the fish!

Cade finding something else to do since he caught his limit!

Chris with his big catch!  He caught the biggest he has ever caught on his fly rod!  He had a blast.  I didn't get to go out in the river with him.  My waders didn't fit over Maddie!  Plus I usually fall several times on rocks so it was safer for me to stay on the river bank.

Her room is painted!!

Chris finished painting Madelyn's room this week.  I think it turned out great!  Now we need to put the funiture together, move all funiture in, hang the curtains, and wait for her to move in!

Three of the walls are the light pink and the main wall is two darker pink stripes.  Three colors of pink are used total.  The crib will go on a solid pink wall with a bible verse painted behind it.

Madelyn's Room

A few weekends ago Chris started painting her room. It is pink of course! He has finished with the three walls that are solid pink and he has one wall left that is going to be pink on pink stripes. When he is finished I will post photos. The bedding is going to be made of several vintage fabrics that are a rosy pink and a soft green. A very sweet old friend of ours is making the bedding! We are so blessed and very excited to see it all put together. Most of you know that the crib, dresser, and changing table where purchased a while back (because I don’t let grass grow under my feet!) and are being held for us at the store. As soon as Chris finishes painting the room we will go pick up the furniture and put it all together. Yep we may be calling some of you for help with this task!

Two weekends ago my in-laws and I went shopping for a glider for the baby’s room. You know me, it had to be perfect! I have been told that I will spend many hours in this chair in the middle of the night! After visiting every furniture store in Tyler and Longview (yes every one! I didn’t even know some existed!!!) we found the perfect glider that swivels at Havertys furniture in Tyler. It is sitting patiently wrapped in plastic in the garage waiting for its big debut in the nursery.

It is all coming together nicely! Below is a picture of the glider (it is ivory) and I will post pictures of the room when Chris is finished painting.

Madelyn is on the MOVE!!! First kicks!!

Last Sunday night Chris and I were laying in bed watching the news (I know we act so old) and I started to feel Maddie move.  I have felt movement before but no real kicks so I didn't really think anything when it happened!  I felt little punches!  I grabbed Chris' hand and placed it on my belly and he felt it too!  It didn't last long but it was amazing!  I had been feeling movements for a while but I prayed that when the big bang happened that Chris would be with me so he would feel it too!  It was a night we will always remember and I thank God that it happened so perfectly with us together:)  This happened at week 21 and 1 day. She is about 10 inches long and weighs in at almost a pound.  As she continues to grow I know her little feet and hands will give much stronger punches!  Isn't God amazing!!!!!

A Girls day at Canton

Last Saturday Michelle, Claire and I went to Canton. For those of you who don’t know what Canton is it is a Trades Day in Canton Texas with many arts and crafts booths and booths from Texas boutiques. Anyways we left Saturday morning and arrived at Canton around 9:30. This was Claire’s first real Canton experience. This was the second time for me to go to Canton since being pregnant with Maddie. The first time I was only 5 weeks along and this time I was 21 weeks. I got Maddie a lot of cute clothes and bows while Claire spent her money on food. We had a great time eating, shopping and having our girl time! When I got home (9 hours later) I was unloading my purchases and realized that this was the first time I have ever been to Canton and didn’t buy my darling Prissy something. Sadness hit me when I realized that she has already taken a back seat to Maddie. Everyone told me this would happen but I never thought it would. To make myself feel better I told myself that on my next Canton trip I would buy Prissy and Maddie matching outfits.
